Empty Newsgroups can be caused by 2 possible reasons. Below are the solutions to help you restore them. While viewing your list of newsgroups: 1. Press Enter to go into each newsgroup and hit 'r' for unread/read. Immediately press 'q' for quit without hitting any other key. Leave the newsgroups altogether after you have complete Step #1 for each newsgroup you wish to revive. Try them a couple of hours later. Sometimes that little trick will jumpstart dead newsgroups. For some reason, the .newsrc file thinks that everything coming into the group has been already read and immediately erases it. The fix stated above works quite well. 2. If that still didn't work, go into your killfile by selecting any newsgroup and highlighting a file. Press ^K to get the kill page. Select yes to everything until you reach the bottom where it asks if you want to: s)ave q)uit e)dit your killfile. Select 'e' for edit. This will bring up your killfile. Check carefully to see if you haven't accidentally added the newsgroup or articles you're missing to the file. The killfile is potent and easy to use to wipe everything out of your newsgroups. Use ^K to delete the offending lines and save the file like you would any file in your account. (^X-Y-Enter) If this still doesn't do it, repeat the steps several times to make sure they take. If still no-deal, write to Userhelp and we'll ask the Office to reset your news file from scratch.
