The normal allocation is 1 MB, or to be more accurate, two 0.5 MB allocations. To find out what you have been allocated, and to see how much of it you are using, do the following after you have left email, and are back in the LYNX file browser. Type 'gquota' - without the quote marks, of course. That is a shortcut for Go To Quota. The link titled something like 'an explanation of what these numbers mean' will lead you to more info (sounds reasonable!). You will see two lines of numbers when you type 'gquota'. The first line relates to one of the blocks of storage - this is JUST for your email INBOX, i.e. your incoming mail. The second line of numbers relates to your other block of storage. The other half-a-meg is for everything else - your sent-mail, saved-messages and any other email folders your have created, your personal profile, any 'web pages' you have created, and files you have downloaded to your CCN account, any newsgroups postings you have saved, plus a few invisible files that are required to keep your account working.
