PICO is one of the easiest editors to learn. Just remember; to activate it, type 'e' for edit and to save your work at the end, type ^x for exit, 'y' for 'yes, save my work' and then hit enter. Everything you do between those two functions will be editing. You can create anything you want. Remember that ordinary text files can be saved with any name and because you're on a Unix-based system here at CCN, you have no limit as to the amount of letters you have in the name of the file. Your file could be named: ThisIsMyFileAndWelcomeToIt.txt <--example If you create an HTML file with working links in it, then you must remember to add the .html extension to it instead of .txt or .asc. Text files really don't need an extension at all but it's nice to put one there so you know what it is at-a-glance. If you forget to name the HTML file with a .html extension, it won't work and it won't look like anything but a scrambled mess. You should be in your files directory 'gfiles' from the CCN homepage before creating any files so that you can see exactly what you're doing as you do it.
