Every account has a .Newsrc file which keeps track of which newsgroups you are subscribed to. This file gets updated each time you change the subscription list of the groups and leave. However, the old file is deleted prior to the new file being created and if your account is over the limit, your new file will fail to be written and your old file will be deleted. This results in the CCN default file being called up as your new .Newsrc file the next time you log in. The default file features all of the same groups but none will be subscribed to and you must start all over again. You can also reset your .Newsrc file by selecting ^R while viewing the list of newsgroups. Press 'y' to activate the change after resetting.
