With the inception of Lynx 2.7, CCN users now have a multi-layered bookmarking option. Enter your setup by pressing 's' (without the quotes). Use the down arrow to move the cursor to Multiple Bookmarks and use the right arrow to open the option box. Select either STANDARD or ADVANCED to use multi-layered bookmark files (NONE will result in a single file such as your original bookmark file). Use the '>' key to save the changes. Now when you press 'v' to view your bookamrk file or the next time you save a bookmark, you will have the option of saving it your usual bookmark file or another file of your choosing (which will be created upon saving the bookmark link). You may also specify older .html files that you have in your account as bookmarks files by entering their position in the bookmark list. While in setup, scroll down to 'review bookmarks' to get the full page. Use the spacebar (or [ and ] to move between pages) to move to the other page, if necessary and select a letter to open the dialog box where you can enter the necessary information. You can put an arbitrary bookmark filename; for example: Bookmarks #1. Hit ENTER/Return and the cursor will move to the right side of the divider line. This is where you can enter the location of that file; for example if you have saved in a subdirectory called backups, you would enter: 'backups/bookmarks1.html' (without the quotes and if bookmarks1.html was the name of the file). When you press 'v' to view your bookmarks, you can simply press ENTER/Return to select the first bookmark file. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- In Review: Multilayered bookmark options: None: only a single bookmark file Standard: pressing 'v' to view bookmarks displays Select Bookmark Menu Advance: pressing 'v' to view bookmarks displays a prompt: Option: a-z => bookmark file by letter, or error if none = => Select Bookmark Menu (as with Standard) ^G => cancel The selected option takes effect immediately.
