Some FTP sites include long names with illegal characters such as '@' or '/' in the names and CCN won't allow a download. So you will have to change the name of the file to something CCN and your home computer will handle. Highlight the file you want to download and press 'm' for modify and 'n' for name. Give the file an easier name, something with only 8 letters so that if you are downloading to a DOS system, it will accept the filename. Be sure to get the file extension correct. If it's a zip file, use .ZIP; if it's a text file, you can use .ASC (for ascii text) and if it's an executable binary, use .EXE. Whatever the extension should be, make sure you keep it the same so that CCN will know just how to handle the file. For example: http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/PDA/DOS/Comm/Telix.zip Should become: Telix.zip
