Communications programs are notoriously poor (with some notable exceptions and these are listed below). Problems ranging from downloading, uploading, printing, getting knocked offline at any time, getting bumped through interrupts, freezeups, etc...are basically the bad design of the comm program. Any good VT100 emulation that can also handle high serial interrupt rates works flawlessly. Lynx is very demanding of comm programs and you need a good one -- these are the ones that we recommend. 1. Telix 3.22 (PC shareware - available on PDA) 2. Z-Term 1.0b3 (Mac shareware - available on PDA) 3. ProTerm 3.1 (Apple II & GS commercial - shareware demo available on PDA) 4. NovaTerm 9.5 (C64/128 shareware - available on PDA) 5. Z-Link (Apple II shareware - available on PDA) 6. Flash 1.60 (Atari ST shareware) To obtain one of the shareware programs listed above, type 'go pda' at the CCN prompt and select the computer format best suited to your system. Download and use this software to communicate with CCN. These excellent shareware programs are provided from dedicated developers around the world. If you find that they have the features you want and the programs meet your needs, then show your support for these authors and encourage their future projects by paying the requested shareware fees.
