Did you also get a message in the status line just above the lynx menu that read "** Bad HTML!! Use -trace to diagnose. **" or something similar? There are a lot of forms on the Internet that have been created by poorly-designed forms-creation software. The result is a web page with improperly-nested HTML tags. Lynx is very critical of invalid HTML where some of the other browsers are more forgiving. The "advanced search" page at Lycos used to fail with lynx. One of the causes was a tag in the middle of the form with no matching tag preceding it. This was enough by itself to make the form fail to work with lynx even after fixing another pair of improperly-nested tags. After the results of correcting the misplaced tags was reported to Lycos, they redesigned their advanced search page. If you DID get the "Bad HTML" error message, tell the webmaster concerned that HTML errors in their form is the cause of their form not working and not your use of an "inferior" browser. Suggest that they use an HTML validation utility or service. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
